Christmas Fairy Spotlights: F3 Project

Throughout December, we’re going to be bringing you information on local events, meals and initiatives over the festive period.  Today, we’re putting the Christmas Fairy Spotlights on

Gillespie Church’s F3 Project:

F3 (Food For Families) is a project run by Gillespie Church, and they provide food for children of school age and under during the School Holidays.  The team started this in response to the growing problem of “holiday hunger” where 1 out of 5 parents were going without food to ensure their children had enough during school holidays.  The Project Managers, Ed and Aileen, have a team of brilliant volunteers who put together food parcels containing fresh as well as ambient foods, to give families a small helping hand. They also provide a friendly chat and cuppa at the church! Gillespie Church also have a variety of groups and activities on throughout the week, as well as their normal Sunday services.

If you’re struggling to make the food last the holidays, and are going without to feed the kids, get in touch direct – they don’t need a referral, just a name and an address, and how many children in the household.
