September Report

It was a quiet month for us, and we also noticed lower numbers attending the Job Club and Credit Union sessions too.  We’re not sure why this was, but we can only hope that we’re not required for crisis help, or that citizens are going to sources of help themselves.  Either way, this is bonus for us, as we’d rather not be required at all!

For me, this month was really challenging.  I attended Mental Health First Aid training, and this really helped me gain a greater understanding of mental health.  The course was over two days, and the key thing I took away is that its okay to not have all the answers, but to be there, to listen and to empathise.

We’re also preparing for October, and working with F3 to support families who go hungry during the holidays.  We work closely with F3, who refer to us, the clothing bank and our advice sessions providers, to offer further support and longer term solutions.
